This is the very first blog I have ever made, so I hope you all enjoy reading it! This will also be the very first time that I leave the United States!! I am leaving for Madrid on Thursday morning and arriving on Friday morning. I found a great host family to live with and I cannot wait to meet them!
The whole process for getting a student visa was a pain in the butt(had to fly out to LA from Colorado to get it during a 10 minute appointment!!) It will definitely be worth it though because I just know I will have a fantastic time in Spain! I plan to travel to a few other countries throughout Europe too if I have enough money.
As far as packing goes for this trip, it has never been harder! Considering I am a girl, I had endless choices of what to bring. I can only bring one 50 pound suitcase so it has been a little rough choosing what to bring and what to leave behind. On the plus side, Madrid doesn't get to freezing cold temperatures like it does here in Colorado, so I don't have to pack the big, bulky winter clothes! Whew!
I am trying to become mentally prepared for my trip, but it still hasn't hit me that I am leaving the United States in 2 days to live in a completely different country for almost 5 months! I am leaving everything and everyone that I have ever known for almost half a year, but I know it will be an unforgettable adventure of a lifetime! In order to help overcome homesickness when I am oversees, I packed my teddy bear(his name is Cuddle Bear), and a photo album full of pictures of my boyfriend and I.
Well, that is all I have to say for now. I'll post an update with pictures when I arrive in Spain!!
